Join us for a special evening with Dr. Temple Grandin!

We invite the public to join us for this free, ticketed portion of the Midwest Grazing & Soil Health Summit at the Brau Performing Arts Center in Willmar. We will begin the evening with a book signing with Dr. Temple Grandin at 7 PM, followed by a screening of An Open Door at 8 PM. Stick around after the film to enjoy a Q&A with Dr. Grandin and executive producer, John Festervand!

Registration: Tickets are free. Please register in advance so we can ensure enough seating. Depending on demand, a limited amount of walk-up seating may be available. If you are registered for the Midwest Grazing & Soil Health Summit, you are already signed up for this event and do not need to register separately. There is still room to register for the whole Summit!

About the Film: AN OPEN DOOR is a documentary reflecting on the influential life and work of Dr. Temple Grandin as a champion of the humane treatment of livestock, autism rights and inclusive neurodiversity by employing her gifted insights from her personal experience with autism and visual thinking. The film speaks with Dr. Grandin, her colleagues, industry professionals and those she has influenced to celebrate her groundbreaking life, lessons learned and lasting legacy. AN OPEN DOOR is directed by award-winning filmmaker John Barnhardt and presented by Colorado State University.

Parking & Entry:

  • Where to Park: Please use the North Parking lot for this event, to avoid the heavy traffic from the basketball sectionals in the South lot.

  • How to Find Us: Enter through the North Doors. This entrance leads directly into the main school lobby, where the Brau Performing Arts Center is located.

  • Assistance: SFA staff and board members will be stationed in the lobby to greet you and provide final directions to the theater doors.
