Topic: Holistic Planned Grazing Growing Season Plan Development

Presenter/Facilitator: Kyle Hildebrandt, The Forage Farmstead and Holistic Management Accredited Professional Educator

This Lake Superior Chapter event is a hands-on workshop where participants will actively build their own 2026 growing season grazing plans using the Holistic Planned Grazing process. This is a chance to work through the core steps of planned grazing, including defining the grazing season, determining available forage, setting recovery periods, and planning stock movements across paddocks. Participants will work directly on their own operations, using their maps, livestock numbers, and current infrastructure to develop a plan that fits their specific context.

Registration: Advance registration is required. $25 for SFA members, $30 for nonmembers. Members must log in to see member pricing. Learn more about joining SFA here.

Bring:
– A dish to share (potluck style)
– Your grazing maps, notes, or just your situation
– Pencils, colored pencils, markers, or highlighters (if you have them)
– Questions, ideas, and a willingness to take your grazing to the next level

Potluck: All food brought to the event must be ready to eat with no onsite preparation. These products are homemade and not subject to state inspection.

SFA staff and volunteers occasionally take photos during our workshops, cafe chats and field days for promotional purposes and to use as documentation of events to share with our funders.  If you do not wish to be photographed, please let our event host know — we’ll make every effort to make sure you are not photographed.
