Greg Booth and Vickie Kettlewell will lead attendees on a pasture walk to look at the results of the past two years of introducing prescribed fire into their pasture operation. We will spend some time looking at their oak silvopasture system and the results of using fire for their brush and vegetation management goals in that system.
SFA and Great River Greening staff will be present to help lead discussion on buckthorn management and the utility of adding fire to the tool box for developing and managing silvopasture. There will also be an opportunity to discuss the purpose and benefit of joining a local prescribed burn association (PBA) with several members present from the local Barrens Gap Fire Alliance.
It is free to attend. Advance Registration is Required. No walkups, please. Light snacks will be provided.
Funding provided by the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources.
