Our annual flagship events are farmer-led and draw people from all over the state.

Regardless of membership, folks flock to our Annual Conference and Midwest Soil Health Summit for networking and education. Several regional SFA chapters also host vibrant local festivals in the summer and fall: Garlic Festival, Salsa Fest, Deep Roots Festival, and Harvest Festival. Annual Conference

Featuring topics largely requested by our members, the SFA Annual Conference is a showcase of the wisdom of the Minnesota ag community. Tickets usually sell out, with hundreds of farmers, ag professionals, aspiring growers, homesteaders, and local foods supporters in attendance. It is known for its warm and welcoming environment, enjoyed by budding and seasoned farmers alike.

The Annual Conference is typically held in central Minnesota on the second Saturday in February.

Midwest Soil Health Summit

The Summit is our largest soil health event of the year, drawing together local and national experts in the field with attendees for discussion and networking. The event is especially popular among farmers, ranchers, and ag resource professionals. All are welcome to attend to connect and learn together.

The Midwest Soil Health Summit is typically held in central Minnesota during two weekdays in March.

MN Garlic Festival

Garlic Festival

Minnesota Garlic Festival is the premier event for lovers of garlic, great local foods and good times! Family friendly, fun filled and fragrant, this festival features fantastic foods, celebrity chefs, marvelous music, area artisans, goofy games…and lots of GARLIC.

Salsa Fest

Minnesota Salsa Fest is central Minnesota's "hottest" autumn harvest festival! This free public event celebrates the harvest of fresh, locally-grown produce with the spicy taste of salsa in all its wonderful variations of flavors and ingredients.

Deep Roots Festival

Deep Roots Festival

The Lake Agassiz Chapter invites the community to celebrate the growing season in early fall! Past festivals have included farm tours, hands-on food workshops, kids activities, live music, locally-sourced meals and beverages, and a farmers market.

Harvest Fest

Harvest Festival

A family-oriented event featuring a huge farmers market, live music all day, renewable Energy Fair, nonprofit exhibitors tent, educational demonstrations, chicken poo bingo, and much more!
